If you ever need a lens rental, Matt Carr is your best friend.
I've been highly anticipating a San Antonio vacation. We got a date set a couple weeks ago; Tuesday the 26th. I heard about MJ Memories from a photographer friend in journalism staff. He had very good things to say about them, so I was pretty confident.
I went to http://www.mjlensrentals.com/ to check it out. When I saw in big red letters: "we will be closed from...." my heart dropped for a split second. Until I approached 19th to 25th. So I'm in the clear, I leave on the 26th right?
Come to find out, we leave at like 7AM. The odds of the lens company (or even the photo shop hes located in) opening before 7 was pretty low. So around the 19th I emailed Matt. After receiving no answer I called snappyphoto.
Snappyphoto told me they would try to get a hold of Matt to see if he would be available Monday and call me back. Great! How nice of them!
I get a call from snappyphoto just a couple minutes later. I was told he was on vacation until Tuesday and nothing could be done. I was still determined.
Looked up Matts phone number, called him. Told him I only have a 18-55mm lens and it wont do me must justice from the stands at sea world, to the talented animals. I asked him if theres any way I could place an order, and pick up the lens before 7AM on tuesday.
"I'm in California right now" he started.... what a way to start... "but I know how important it is to have a lens during vacation. My flight is schedule to get me in late Sunday. As long as theirs no flight delays, I can definitely get the lens to you Monday, and if there were to be a delay, full refund."
What a way to end....
